Privacy Policy

Wellness Radar is operated as an independent editorial publication. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it's stored, who we share it with, and how to opt out. We don't run advertising networks, we don't sell user data, and we don't deploy third-party trackers beyond what's named below.

What we collect

Analytics (privacy-first)

Wellness Radar uses Plausible Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool that does not use fingerprinting and does not track individuals across sites or sessions. Plausible records anonymous aggregates: page views, referrer URL, country (derived from IP, then immediately discarded), device type, browser name. No personally identifying data is collected and no advertising IDs are set.

Email subscriptions

When you subscribe to The Brief (our weekly newsletter), we collect your email address and the source of the signup (which page you came from). Email delivery is handled by Resend. We do not share your email with third parties. We do not use your email for retargeting or behavioral advertising. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click from any newsletter footer.

Search queries

When you use the on-site search (the / shortcut or search button), your query text is logged to support editorial decisions about what to publish next. Queries are stored without IP or session identifiers and are aggregated to surface unmet reader demand. We do not associate queries with email subscribers.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) maintains standard request logs (IP, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are not used for advertising or profiling.

What we don't do

Sponsored content (when present)

When Wellness Radar publishes sponsored content, paid partnerships, or affiliate links, they are labeled clearly at the top of the article. Sponsored placements never grant the sponsor access to reader data, subscriber lists, or analytics dashboards. Editorial control of sponsored content remains with Wellness Radar.

Cookies

Wellness Radar sets no advertising cookies. We use one technical cookie for the on-site search UI (remembers if the search panel was opened) and standard session cookies set by Vercel for security. We do not show a cookie banner because we do not collect cookie-based consent for any tracking purpose.

Your rights

You can request a copy of any data we hold about you, request correction, or request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected]. Subscribers can unsubscribe with one click. Search-query logs cannot be associated with any specific user, so they cannot be individually deleted, but we can permanently delete any newsletter record on request.

Children

Wellness Radar is intended for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it.

Jurisdiction

Wellness Radar is operated from Canada. By using the site you consent to your data being processed in Canada and in the regions where our hosting and email providers operate (primarily the United States and the European Union). We honor GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA principles regardless of where the reader is located.

Changes to this policy

We will note any material changes at the top of this page and update the "last updated" date. Substantive changes to how we collect or use data will be announced in The Brief at least seven days before taking effect.

Contact

Email [email protected] for any privacy question. We answer within seven days.
