Wellness Radar editorial verdict

Pure Encapsulations is the brand functional-medicine practitioners hand patients with sensitivities — no gluten, no soy, no dyes, no proprietary blends, and a serious commitment to disclosing every excipient. The downside is that you're paying for the practitioner channel: same vitamin D as a $9 bottle elsewhere can run $24 here. Worth it for hypersensitive individuals, MTHFR-mutation patients on methylated B-vitamins, or anyone where the GI tolerability matters more than dose-per-dollar. For healthy adults, you can do better on price.

Strengths

  • Hypoallergenic formulations — useful for IBD, MCAS, sensitivities
  • Methylated B-vitamins (methylfolate, methylcobalamin) at clinically relevant doses
  • Full excipient transparency, no hidden fillers

Caveats

  • Practitioner-channel pricing 2–3× equivalent NOW/Bulk products
  • Most SKUs not third-party certified for athletes
  • Sold primarily through resellers — price volatility on Amazon
